Privacy Policy

Zenith collects nothing about you. It has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no third-party tracking. Your tracks live on your iPhone, and they stay there unless you choose to save them to Apple Health.

The short version

• Zenith does not have a backend — there is no Zenith server for your data to be sent to.
• Zenith does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information.
• There are no accounts, logins, or profiles — you never give Zenith your name, email, or any identifier.
• There is no analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking SDK of any kind.
• Everything Zenith records is stored on your device and is deleted when you delete a track or the app.
• The one exception is the support form on this website — if you write in, you hand over a name, an email address, and whatever you type. That's covered below.

What Zenith records, and where it stays

To do its job — tracking your elevation as you move — Zenith reads a few sensors and saves the results locally on your iPhone (and Apple Watch). None of it leaves your device by default.

• Location. While a track is active, Zenith reads your GPS location to measure elevation and draw your route. It is used on-device only and is never sent to us. You can grant "While Using" or "Always" access; "Always" simply lets a track keep recording when your phone is in your pocket.
• Motion & barometer. Zenith reads the barometric altimeter and motion coprocessor to measure elevation precisely and to detect whether you're walking, hiking, running, riding, or driving. This is processed on-device.
• Your tracks. The samples, statistics, and routes Zenith saves are stored on your device (using Apple's on-device SwiftData store) and, if you use iCloud device backup, are included in your own encrypted Apple backup like any other app's data.

Apple services Zenith relies on

Zenith uses a few of Apple's built-in frameworks. When it does, your interaction is with Apple under Apple's privacy policy — not with us, and we receive nothing from these.

• Maps. Route maps are drawn with Apple Maps (MapKit). Rendering a map may involve requests to Apple's map service, handled by Apple per its privacy policy.
• Apple Health. If you choose to save a hike, walk, run, or ride, Zenith writes it to Apple Health as a workout — with route, distance, and elevation gain — on your device. That data lives in your Health app under your control; Zenith does not read your other health data, and drives and undetected tracks are never written.
• Purchases. Zenith Pro is sold through Apple's App Store using StoreKit. Apple processes the payment and the subscription; Zenith never sees your payment details. Restoring a purchase asks Apple whether you own Pro — no personal data is exchanged with us.

The support form on this website

The support page has a contact form, and it is the only place any of this applies. Sending a message hands over your name, your email address, and whatever you write in it.

• How it reaches us. The form posts to Web3Forms, which relays the message to our email inbox. It passes through their servers on the way and is handled under their privacy policy.
• Spam protection. The form uses hCaptcha to keep bots out. To do that, hCaptcha sees your IP address and some information about your browser, under its own privacy policy. It is not used to track you or to advertise to you.
• What we do with it. We read your message and reply to it. That's all. It isn't added to a mailing list, sold, or shared, and it lives in an email inbox alongside every other conversation.
• Not the app. None of this touches the app or your tracks. Zenith itself never sends anything to this form or anywhere else.

What we never do

We do not build a profile of you, track you across apps or websites, show ads, or hand your information to data brokers or advertisers. We could not, even if we wanted to: the app has no mechanism to send your data anywhere.

Children

Zenith is safe for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Deleting your data

Delete an individual track inside the app to remove it, or delete the app to remove everything Zenith has stored. Data you previously exported to Apple Health is managed in the Health app, and purchases are managed in your Apple Account settings.

Changes to this policy

If Zenith ever changes what it does with data, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change. Since Zenith has no way to contact you, please check back here.
